Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted much of anything at all recently. Life has taken a bad down turn of events over the past year and a half. My place of employment shut down back in June 2012 and I have been unemployed since then. I was lucky enough to be able to go into a worker retraining program and study Digital Video Production. I have always been fascinated with working with video since I was younger so I thought this would be a great way to expand my knowledge in that field and do something with it. If you want to check out any of my video work, please visit my YouTube channel at: www.youtube.com/user/komikino
. I should post some links to some of my videos in my gallery since I did some cool artistic things to them. I have also come to the conclusion that After Effects is a pretty damn cool program (along with Adobe Premiere).
Anyways, I am still unemployed and what makes things really suck is that my unemployment has run out. That's right... going into the holiday season with no money coming in at all. That really sucks. Hopefully after the New Year is over the job market will pick up.
What about artwork? Yeah... since I went unemployed and went back to school, I haven't had much of a chance to do anything artistic. I have done a couple drawings here and there since, but my free time was used to work on assignment. I am working on a Nausicaa illustration for a local (Seattle area) art show. When that is done, I will post it here. During my time at school, I have greatly increased my video production skills. Last year, I made a paranormal investigation documentary. Unfortunately, I really can't show it anywhere due to the fact I didn't get full authorization from the people that owned the property. This summer, I made another paranormal documentary (thing Ghost Adventures / Ghost Hunters). I am not quite done editing it but when it's finished, I will post about it here.
I hope you all are having a great time this holiday season because I really am not. I am just not as happy during this time as I have been in past holidays. I know once things get better I will feel better, but that's not here yet.
I am on Facebook, so if you want to see what I am doing on a regular basis, you can follow me there: www.facebook.com/rich.schleife…
Have a great holiday season everyone!
